Balfour Beatty has pulled out of the bid race to build the Government’s first privately financed hospital under the new PF2 model in the Midlands.
Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust invited Balfour and the two other bidders to enter competitive dialogue in September.

At least four of the UK’s biggest contractors are understood to have been approached by CSCEC, which has sought to form a 50:50 joint venture with a UK firm.
Sources said the four contractors were Kier, Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine and Wates.
