Sweett group reported £1.6m profit for the first half of the year following transport and energy wins and the sale of PFI assets. European work brought in just over half of Sweett’s revenues for the period, which totalled £37.7m, up from £36.1m. Sweett’s pre-tax profit in the six months to 30 September followed a loss of £200,000 in the same period last year.

Persimmon is planning to build half of its homes offsite, its managing director has told CN. Jeff Fairburn said the country’s biggest housebuilder is ramping up the modular approach, or Space4, which currently produces a third of homes, or around 3,500. Morgan Sindall has won two new infrastructure projects worth £42m including the £20m North Doncaster Chord project.
