Carillion gets green light to start on Anfield stadium expansion

Carillion will be on site this month at Liverpool FC’s Anfield stadium as construction on the historic stadium gets set to begin.

Liverpool Football Club today confirmed construction on the expansion of the Main Stand at Anfield will begin early next year, taking the overall capacity to about 54,000 seats.

Kier eyes potential Mouchel takeover

Kier has confirmed it is in talks with consultant Mouchel over a potential takeover.

In a release to the stock exchange this morning, the contractor said that it has “held preliminary discussions regarding a potential acquisition of Mouchel.”

Morgan Sindall teams up with S.M. Stoller and Newport News Nuclear

Morgan Sindall has signed a long-term agreement with two US nuclear waste specialists to offer a combined delivery capability to the UK nuclear market.

The UK contractor will work with the S.M. Stoller Corporation and Newport News Nuclear, which are both subsidiaries of Virginia-based US shipbuilding company Huntington Ingalls Industries and have managed licenced nuclear sites in the US.

Phil Greer takes on operations role at Laing O'Rourke

Phil Greer has joined Laing O’Rourke as operations leader from Shepherd Construction.

Mr Greer was one of four senior departures from Shepherd in September 2014 when regional managing director Mark Tant, business director Peter Bates and head of procurement and design Andrew Wilson left the firm.
