Contractor sought for £35m decommissioning facility

Lerwick Port Authority is currently inviting applications to tender for a £35 million new decommissioning facility at Dales Voe, Lerwick.

Interest should be registered by 29th June 2012 with tender due to be invited 6th July 2012.

Works are expected to commence September/October 2012 and will be carried out over a period of 20 months. Works will include removal of approximately 201,000 cubic metres of which 90,000 cubic metres is in a deep water area with 111,000 cubic metres dredging soft for reclamation/fill.

It is likely that some combination of back-hoe and trailer suction dredging will be used for the bulk of the work. Approximately 30,000 m2 of quay area will be created with associated infrastructure works.
