Six firms have won a place on Aberdeenshire councils £125 million main contractor framework
Kier Construction, McLaughlin & Harvey Construction, Morgan Sindall, Morrison Construction, Robertson Construction and Northstone (NI) have a place on the three-year framework. Typical types of build projects covered under the contract will include; Primary schools, Care homes and Council offices. Work will be delivered through design and build contracts and the agreement could be extended for an extra year.
Graham Construction has won the £134 million Aberdeen hospital project
The new facilities at the Foresterhill Health Campus will include the Baird Family Hospital and the Anchor Centre with maternity, gynaecology, breast screening and breast surgery services. A neonatal unit will also be built on site, along with an operating theatre suite and research facilities. Construction on both schemes is to commence mid-2018, with completion due in 2020. .
Chinese builder teams up with housing group to build six offsite factories in the UK
China’s largest building firm has teamed up with a renewable energy company and a housing association in a joint venture aiming to build tens of thousands of prefabricated UK homes. The deal will see China Building Material Company, WELink Energy and Your Housing Group work together to build six offsite housing factories across the country. It aims to have all six factories operational by 2022 and producing 25,000 homes a year.

Galliford Try beats two to win £32m Northumberland County Council HQ
Galliford Try has been chosen for a £32m deal to build Northumberland County Council’s HQ in Ashington. The project will also include upgrades to local roads, modifications of existing junctions and the provision of nearly 500 parking spaces.
