The DfE has announced the first 50 projects of its School Rebuilding Programme to “create modern education environments, providing new facilities from classrooms and science labs, to sports halls and dining rooms”.
Construction on the first rebuilds will start in the autumn, and the government has said the majority of the 50 are “expected to be completed within three to five years”. To see more immediate opportunities read our Top School Projects Starting in 2021 article here.
The recent Glenigan Construction Industry Forecast for 2021 - 2022 refers to the programme and Allan Wilen, Glenigan Economics Director said that; “greater financial support is expected to help accelerate the delivery of much needed school places and lift school-building starts in the long term. Because of this, we anticipate the value of project-starts to climb 30% in 2021, with a further 9% rise in 2022.”
