Bouygues took pole position in the monthly top contractor table after landing £ 111.4 million of new work in December. The company jumped 11 places, propelled by a £70 million contract with Taylor Wimpey to build 150 flats on the site of North Westminster School, on Paddington Basin (Glenigan Project ID: 13018359).
Sir Robert McAlpine moved up nine places to hit the number two spot, buoyed by a £70 million job for Hammerson on the Watermark West Quay retail scheme in Southampton (Glenigan Project ID: 14161876).
Meanwhile, third-placed VINCI has secured three packages worth a total of £90.2 million on the £320 million Allerton Waste Recovery Park in Yorkshire for client AmeyCespa (Ferrovial) (Glenigan Project ID: 07537829).
Elsewhere in this month’s contractor leagues, Rider Levett Bucknall have gone straight in at the top of the quantity surveyor table after winning two deals worth £110 million. Hoare Lea climbed two places to top the consulting engineers table, while WYG leads the list of top 20 architects.
Glenigan league tables are produced from comprehensive UK construction activity data and provide a snapshot of contractor performance over a 12-month period. Projects are tracked to completion on site by Glenigan researchers, who make over one million phone calls per year to provide timely, robust data.
