Mace has taken pole position in Glenigan’s top contractor league table for May after securing a £120 million redevelopment deal in London.
The contractor climbed seven places to lead this month’s table after being appointed by real estate group Market Tech to redevelop Hawley Wharf in Camden. The mixed-use scheme, which is set to break ground in August, includes 170 homes and eight new buildings (Glenigan Project ID: 11327891).
The development was among seven contracts won by Mace during April, with a combined value of £237.9 million.
Runner up Morgan Sindall bagged 15 deals totalling £151.5 million, including a £40 million residential contract on the Regents Park Estate for the London Borough of Camden (Glenigan Project ID: 14411454).
Brookfield Multiplex shot straight into third place thanks to a £130 million deal with Derwent to build their mixed-used development at Charlotte Street in London (Glenigan Project ID: 11092265).
Byrne Group’s fit-out subsidiary Chorus was also a new entry to the top five after scoring a £120 million contract to build 36 luxury flats at the former US Navy Headquarters in Grosvenor Square for joint clients Grosvenor Square and Finchatton (Glenigan Project ID: 08345329).
Meanwhile newcomers Lagan Construction Group and Somague sit on tenth and 11th place respectively with a share of a £150 million new campus development for University of Ulster (Glenigan Project ID: 13236238). The deal helped the University of Ulster lead the monthly client table, with the Department of Health holding firm at the top of the 12-month view.
In the annual contractor table, Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke maintained their positions in first and second, while Kier climbed one place to sit third thanks to a haul of 234 deals worth £1.9 billion.
Buoyed by its strong April performance, Mace moved up two places to fourth, with Skanska rounding off the top five.
Elsewhere in this month’s contractor leagues, Turner & Townsend climbed 11 places to lead the quantity surveyor top 20 after securing six deals totalling £240.8 million. The architect and consulting engineer tables were dominated by new entries, with MAKE heading up the former and Hoare Lee topping the latter.
