Engie in 50-year £195m student accommodation win Engie has won a £195m design, refurb and FM deal with Kingston University for its student accommodation. The contract is worth £55m for the design and refurbishment of its 1,332-bed estate and a further £140m for a 50-year FM deal. Read the full article on the Construction News website.
RG Group wins deal for Yorkshire's tallest building RG Group has landed the contract to build a new student housing tower in Leeds, which is set to become the tallest building in Yorkshire. The contractor was picked by developer Olympian Homes for the Hume House tower, which will stand 114 m when completed and provide 278,000 sq ft of accommodation space. Construction work started this week on the 37-storey building, which will feature 752 bedrooms and create 300 construction jobs at the peak of construction. Balfour named sole contractor on £2.1bn Scape frameworks Balfour Beatty has been appointed sole contractor on two Scape frameworks worth £2.1bn. The UK’s largest contractor was chosen by the public sector procurement body for its £1.6bn England, Wales and Northern Ireland civil engineering framework and its £500m Scottish equivalent. The two new deals replace Scape’s existing £1.5bn National Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Framework, which expires in January next year. Read the full article on the Construction News website.
