Tenders invited for open space works

Tenders are currently being invited for the open spaces and neighbourhood development scheme for RCT Homes throughout Rhondda and Pontypridd in South Wales. Works are expected to commence from March 2014 and be carried out over a period of 4 years.

Contractor awarded £13m cinema

British Land Ltd have awarded a main contract to McLaren Construction for the construction of 11 screen multiplex cinema, 5 sit down restaurants and related improvements. Broughton Shopping Park, have confirmed they expect work on an 11-screen multiplex cinema to start in January 2014.

Contractor awarded academic buildings

University of Surrey have awarded a main contract to BAM Construction UK Ltd for the construction of 3 academic buildings (VS1, V2 and VS3) to accommodate a school of veterinary medicine, comprising teaching, laboratory and office use, including animal husbandry and handling facilities together with accessible parking. Work for the £25 million scheme is due to start in February 2014 and to be completed June 2015.

Plans submitted for Lidl store

Detailed plans have been submitted for a scheme by Lidl (UK) Ltd at 579 Moseley Road at Sparkbrook, Birmingham. This scheme comprises of the construction of a new enlarged Lidl supermarket of 2,092sqm together with 87 car parking spaces. The existing Lidl supermarket and industrial units on Homer Street will also need to be demolished. Nicol Thomas Ltd are the architects who designed this £1.9 million scheme.
