Contractors sought for road improvements

Kent County Council are currently seeking contractors to tender for the Westwood Relief Strategy. The contract is to widen Poorhole Lane to provide a link road between the A256 and A254. This will create an alternative route for through traffic travelling between Margate and Broadstairs, to allow traffic to avoid Westwood roundabout altogether. In addition, new roundabouts will be provided at either end of the widened Poorhole Lane to allow for additional traffic along this route. Prequalification questionnaires are to be returned by 6 January 2014. Construction is to commence on site June 2014 and be completed by April 2014. The contract value is £2.5million a bid to the Department of Transport for Local Pinch Point Funding was successful and in May 2013, the Transport Secretary announced that funding had been allocated to the scheme.

Contractors sought for power supply framework

UK Power Networks are currently seeking contractors to express an interest in tendering for the Framework Contract which will be split into 6 lots and cover major Substations, major underground circuits, major overhead circuits and Distribution underground 11kV and LV & overhead systems. The initial contract will run for four years, but may extend for a further four years and then a further four. The contract is valued between £352million and £1.082billion.

Companies sought for framework contract

Network Rail Infrastructure Limited are currently seeking up to 36 companies to apply for the Commercial Property Professional Services Framework. Companies should apply by 6 December 2013. Prequalification questionnaires are to be returned by the 12 December 2013. Frameworks to be established with vendors in the following professions: Architectural / Interior Design; Project Management; Mechanical & Electrical Design; Quantity Surveying; CDMC and Structural Engineering. The value is estimated to be between £5million and £50million with a three-year contract period.
