With more and more people choosing to stay in the UK for their holidays instead of going abroad, are developers encouraging this by building bigger, better and more luxurious hotels and leisure facilities here in the UK?
I’m sure we all remember staying somewhere damp and freezing cold with stained wallpaper or paint peeling from the walls, or being entertained for hours as a child watching a Punch & Judy show on the beach. But if you were to search for a weekend break today where could you stay and what could you do?
The recently completed Soho Farmhouse (Glenigan project ID 13175580) with 40 luxury eco chic log cabins all situated next to small lakes and streams, there is also a four bed cottage and a seven bed farmhouse. The facility has everything you’d need for a relaxing weekend away, from luxury spas and beauty facilities to outside heated swimming pools. But if you wanted something a little more energetic you could go horse riding, boating, play five a side football or ice skating in the winter.
If you would rather revisit your youth and head back down to the beach, then why not stay at a new 5 star luxury hotel in Bournemouth (Glenigan project ID 05346128). When the hotel is complete, later this year, you could swim in the heated indoor pool or be pampered in the spa, which offers sauna and steam facilities. The hotel will also offer a restaurant on the 8th floor with views of Bournemouth and the English Channel. With the hotel situated within a 5 minute walk of the town centre and the blue flag awarded beaches, it’s in the perfect location for a weekend away.
Or why not have a city break away to Bath in a £25 million hotel (Glenigan project ID 11045155), right in the centre of the city and close to The Roman Baths. The hotel is expected to be completed early 2017 and will have 177 bedrooms.
So with a variety of wonderful places to stay in the UK, all we have to do now is hope for better weather!
