A three-floor retail and restaurant development has been given the green light by Westminster Council in Leicester Square, home to an estimated 37 million tourists annually.The council has resolved to grant consent for the regeneration and redevelopment of 48 Leicester Square, a full island block comprising the whole of the west side of the square. Parts of the façade of the existing building will be retained under the new development, designed by Make, which was once headquarters to the Automobile Association. A new contemporary bladed roof structure will cap the 90,0000 sq ft of new offices.
