Westfield has told subcontractors it is not too late to bid for work on its delayed £275m shopping centre in Bradford, just months before construction work restarts. Work on the 570,000 sq ft development in Bradford city centre is planned to get under way in the final quarter of this year after being mothballed in 2008 as a result of the financial crisis. The stalled site became known as the ‘Bradford Hole’. Construction is expected to take less than two years to complete, with the 75-unit shopping centre due to open in autumn 2015.
